Dussehra is derived from Sanskrit word Dasha-hara which means removal of bad fate. It also represents removal of ten heads of Ravana. Besidesworshipping Sri Ram devotees also pray to Goddess Durga - the one who represents strength, ability and courage. This year Dussehra will be celebrated on13th october 2013. i.e. Sunday.

Dussehra - Significance & Celebration 
  • Worship household & work-related tools, books, computers, cooking pans and vehicles.
  • Performances of the Ramlila in Northern India.
  • A large procession of Maa Chamundeshwari on elephants in Mysore.
Dussehra is considered highly auspicious to start a new venture, project or journey. People also exchange gifts and wish each other. 

Burn your tensions and sorrows with the effigy of Ravana.

Light the hopes of happiness, wealth and prosperity.

Eliminate Sin, Evil and Negativity around you.




परित्राणाय साधूनां विनाशाय च दुष्कृताम् |

धर्मसंस्थापनार्थाय सम्भवामि युगे युगे ||

Meaning: For the protection of the good, for the destruction of the evil and for the establishment of dharma (righteousness), I (the Lord) am born from age to age.
